Spain is a country that fast becomes an addiction

If you’re visiting Spain for the first time, be warned: this is a country that fast becomes an addiction. You might intend to come just for a beach holiday, a walking tour or a city break, but before you know it you’ll find yourself hooked by something quite different – the wild celebration of some local fiesta, perhaps, or the otherworldly architecture of Barcelona. Even in the best-known places to visit – from the capital, Madrid, to the costas, from the high Pyrenees to the Moorish cities of the south – there are genuinely surprising attractions at every turn, whether it’s hip restaurants in the Basque country, the wild landscapes of the central plains, or cutting-edge galleries in the industrial north.

Also, Spain played an important role in the development of the game of Chess and its formalization in what is its current form. Not to mention that the Spanish opening is one of the best ones for those who enjoy an “open” position on the chessboard!

Yes Javier \ud83d\udc1d beBee, visiting Spain is on my Holiday Travel List, which is the same list as the James Bond movie locations. "For Your Eyes Only" - among other locations, included Madrid. "The World is Not Enough" included Bilbao. . . . someday . . .

I have always wanted to go to Spain, Javier \ud83d\udc1d beBee and with this buzz I am craving a holiday there, even more. The architecture of Spain is something that i.woukd like to see with my own two eyes, instead of pictures. Especially, Gaudí's Sagrada de la Familia has been one architectural marvel I have always wanted to see. And of course, the fiestas are something to look forward to, meet new people and talk in Spanish all I want. :-)

When I was growing up in the '50s and '60s, Javier \ud83d\udc1d beBee, I was aware of how beautiful Spain was because my parents visited it every year. They loved your country, and I wish I had been able to visit with them. I've been in many European countries, but for whatever reason, not yet Spain. Bucket-list item for sure!

Esa sagrada Familia, el Reti , la plaza de España de Sevilla 😍 echo en falta el teatro de Mérida, la plaza de España de Salamanca....
