What You Eat Matters - 2018 Documentary H.O.P.E.

Did you watch it? Experience tells me most wonât, so Iâll go on to tell you what I gleaned from it.If we see how we dare treat animals to please our taste buds (my mouth has watered at the sizzling of a steak in the past), we would see how easily it would be to convert the Human resource into stalls of complacency as well. Bit by bit, we are being herded into stalls. Jeff Goldblum touts the amazingness of apartment living at a time when most cannot make enough money to buy a home. When I was a child, buying a home was a pinnacle of success. We are being seduced through the industrialization of psychology to believe we should lower our expectations. We are being made to believe we should expect, and be happy with less. (YesâIndustry employs droves of psychologists.)
But letâs get back to meat.
Forty percent of our global warming problem lies in industrialized agriculture. If we stop whatâs happening from happening, global warming will fix itself. I no longer eat meat. I have lowered my carbon footprint.
It takes 12,000 gallons of water to produce one kilogram of meat. The feed these animals eat produces (what was once called manure) slurry. When I was a kid, we had cow chips. Damn--you could just about frisbee them. The farm I lived on had dairy cows. They went to pasture by day; did their defecation in the field (drove it into the ground with their hooves, returning it to the earth), and came into a barn where wooden troughs had been carved to catch what was left in their innards. It was solid stuff. There was a big double-door at the back of the barn where manure was piled high until planting season came. It was fertilizer.
Now most animals (pigs, cows, chickens) are being fed GMO corn and soy which turns into a liquid in their digestive systems. It squirts out of their behind in a stream. This slurry is kept in big ponds and is sprayed onto crop fields.
Now I donât know about you, but I always learned that diarrhea meant youâre sick. When these slurry-ridden animals have completed their five months or so growth, or when a dairy cow is burnt out from producing gallons and gallons more milk than they healthily can (5 years) because of injected hormones, they go to slaughter.
Then we eat the meat infused with hormones, herbicides, antibiotics, and pesticides, and wonder why weâre sick all the time. Youth is fleeting. You can beat your body up for just so long before it fights back. We donât need pills; we need good food.
Back to meat again.
Hamburger now contains things like spinal columns. As a child, I would walk to the butcher store, order a pound of hamburger, and watch the butcher grind the meat right in front of me, and it was meat. I probably donât want to know what goes into hamburger today.
Below is a video discussion of our health concerns todayâespecially those of our kids.
PROCESSED PEOPLE - Plant Based Documentary 2008
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v8Q1IQeJcoM
We no longer âpreventâ disease, we âtreatâ symptoms. When my cholesterol skyrocketed, I got myself to the doctor and got a pill. I always knew this was treating the symptom and not the problem, but I was lazy. (When I did engage in a good diet, my cholesterol numbers went down.) But I was younger, and eventually, those pills caused pain and discomfort. This year, as my health slide down the decline, I came to the decision that I had to stop taking the drugs I had been prescribed (They have a pill for almost everything.) and abandon medicine. I was in constant pain, had reoccurring infections, and my sleep was limited. One of the first things I noticed was that I was pain-free. Another was I slept much of the next five weeks. It was both glorious and concerning. I emerged from my bed feeling better than I had in a long time.
As I aged, I found taking a pill for one symptom gave me ten more symptoms. But thatâs okay. There are ten pills for each of those symptoms. The problem is you are gifted with a hundred more. This had to stop.
After my extended date with my pillow, I was still sick, but I was better. I explored another topic quite by accident. Most of you probably did not like my perusings on that topic. But I found another way to protect myself from bad health. That topic had woven through my life in insidious ways. I only now have completed realizing the damage that that path has bulldozed through my life. I mourn what I have lost because of it, and the damage it has done to my eldest. My fault was trust.
Another food dark-side lies below
The Dark Side of Fast Food: Why Does It Make You Sick / Fat / Tired / Taste So Good (2001)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PUspRBt7Kp4
So whatâs Good?
I gave up meat, eggs, dairy, fish and almost all sugar; I avoid pesticides and herbicide by buying organic food and embarked on a journey to better health. I gave up my nightly fair of TV fiction and devoted my hours to study.
The result? My innards are fixing themselves (I suffered my own version of slurry from eating GMO foods.); I have no more pain, and I have hopes that the recurring infection caused by my medication for Multiple Sclerosis will stop with time. That medication was only geared towards slowing the disease, but it was also the one causing the most problems. I slowly came to an understanding that âdeath by complications of Multiple Sclerosisâ could be related to my ever-evolving, drug-resistant infections caused by the medication. And the Glyphosate in our foods is patented as a broad spectrum antibiotic as well as many things.
My heart was doing flip-flops when I would lie down. I knew medicine would simply prescribe more medicine. I watched a video that gave me caused me to theorize my hefty cholesterol levels could be the result of a deficit in sulfates. I really didnât eat many cholesterol-inducing foods. Iâve always suspected I was one of those people who produce cholesterol. But why?
The heart requires sulfates. I never ate foods rich in sulfates. To the best of my knowledge, cholesterol is the transport for sulfates. Was my liver generating more cholesterol because my heart was calling for the meager supply of sulfates in my body?
Seventh Day Adventistsâ have the longest lifespan at least in our country. They are vegan.Â
Onions are rich in sulfatesâI love onions. I started consuming them daily in an experiment to see if they would drive my cholesterol down. To my surprise, my heart stopped doing flip-flops. I dug deeper.
Iâve always known the vegan diet reigned supreme. I sought out information on those diets. Iâve learned much. There is an adage: Eat to Live, Donât Live to Eat. Now think about that. I know I have always lived to eat. I looooooooooooove my treats. But mt A1c was 5.6 last go-round. At 5.7 they call you prediabetic and give you a pill that readily causes dementia. I loved coffee with Nestleâs Quick and Half-and-Half. It was a mainstay in my life. Black coffee, here I went. Iâm trying to treat my body like it needs me to take care of it, not like itâs there for me to abuse with my desires. I keep telling myselfâEat to Live Eat to Live Eat to LiveâŠ
I watched many videos, but this one has two top heart Docs in it. Lisa Gallagher, you might want to watch this one. Two top doctors on nutrition and heart disease talk here. One saved 11 out of 12 from certain death with the right nutrition.

Does organic cost more? I havenât crunched the numbers, but if you give up the expensive categories like meat and butter, I think it may be slightly more expensive. If you consider the impact everybody going meatless would have on our environmentâwellâhow much is your life worth?
In closing, you might want to watch this remarkable woman. She is fighting for all of us. She is a nuclear physicist turned ecological expert. She is fighting corporationsâ move to grab control of all seeds on earth. Skip over the French guy if you don't understand the language.

Yes, Donald 🐝 Grandy PN. I see the difference between my path and yours. I wonder if the key is not consistency? It will be interesting to see if my path is as successful as yours. I'm going to fly in the face of this carb business and see what results. I do agree with the processed food dilemma. Going into the grocery store today incites the same feelings I'd get when walking into a haunted house during Halloween. I, myself, became so comfortable with these--ah--ah--well you know what I mean--I fed them to my kids. Shame on me. I had the delusion that doctors were a vanguard against big pharma--advocating for the needs of the patient. Imagine my confusion when I realized my doc was on the front lines FOR pharma. If I hear the word Statin one more time from my doctor... I had to stop them because of the tremendous pain they caused. We absolutely have stars in the medical field. I think Ian Weinberg is one that I have met in here. But they are few and far between. And when they decided there was little left to purge me of--throwing me into a nursing home under the "Failure to Thrive" moniker, I rebelled. Shame on them. I'm thriving just fine.

Yep, CityVP 🐝 Manjit. Sugar was my downfall. My cholesterol was always high. Now that my sugar is joining my cholesterol in the race, they become allies in beating up my heart. There was a time I swore off veal when I learned they were kept in tiny stalls to keep them tender. Now that I know all of our animals are kept like this, I swear off all. I had switched to organic meat, but I learned that meat is meat is meat. Just because one set is allowed to frollick in a field from time to time does not mean ripping at it's flesh with my plant-based teeth is alright. I'll be seduced by industry no more. My father was a consumate crook. Just because he thought it was great, didn't mean I had to believe it was. We are raised with certain beliefs. Littlt by little, I have thrown them off. If we run out of meat, will it come to the likes of this little piece I wrote? Meat https://www.bebee.com/producer/@joyce-bowen/meat

Jerry Fletcher. I've spent years beating up my body with improper choices. I went to a functional medicine doctor yesterday who declared meat healthy and the carbs in my chosen diet deadly. The Cardiac Diet has the welcome effect of defeating both according to what they are saying. Of course, this sent me on a further research path. There are good carbs and bad carbs. The glycemic index appears to have a great impact on whether or not a carb is healthy. I believe it is pinto beans that has a glycemic index of 33 when steamed and something like 13 boiled. So even how a carb is prepared is important. It's not as easy as slapping a piece of meat on a grill, but it forces me to think of just what passes my lips. Oatmeal will spike a person's sugar level whether healthy or not. But what do we put in that oatmeal? I was putting an ever-increasing amount of fruit in it. I learned the banana, not the berry, is an awful choice in terms of sugar. I gave my residual bananas to the woman upstairs. I will stick to a reasonable berry-load--2 raspberries, 2 blackberries, and 4 or 5 blueberries. I am struggling with what is called Metabolic Syndrome. My love affair with what I love to eat has defeated me. Several of my blood levels are creeping dangerously high. I no have the desire to pile pills in my mouth or inject myself, so I embarked on this journey. I attempted to see a nutritionist, but Medicare will only pay when you are already diabetic or in kidney failure. "I have sick care, not health care," I declared to my doctor. Being forced to go out on my own is not really a bad thing. I found this audio involving the famous Dr. Esselstyn. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R-dvM1ck2O8

Pascal Derrien--you don't need meat at all. If you watch the plant-based video, you will see them say you can completely reverse diabetes with a plant-based diet. But learning about using legumes can be a tedious process. Kidney beans must be thoroughly cooked or they will make you sick. And spices? There are organic spices and even vitamins. Our vitamin C is drawn from corn now. Vitamin C must be organic to get fruit-based vitamin C. Everything in my house is organic now. I feel off the wagon last night and bought a 2-cookie pack from the convenience store last night. I was surprised when I got a tummy ache from them. And fish? Our fish-farming practices have spread fish disease from your end of the pond to mine. Fish farmers from New Brunswick imported eggs from your neck of the woods and introduced 3 European fish viruses over here. When one of the viruses takes hold, farmers kill off the population and sell disease-ridden fish carcases in the market. They are infecting the wild populations. Nothing about our food is safe anymore. Imported processed foods containing GMOs do not have to be labeled so in Europe. The more basic you can go--the better.
