Chief Flight Instructor

Fujairah Aviation Academy, founded in 1986 under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Saleh Mohammed Hamad Al Sharqi, is a long-established flight training institution committed to developing aspiring pilots. The academy offers professional training from Private Pilot License through Commercial Pilot License and is the first dedicated Airline Transport Pilot License school in the Middle East. All courses are approved by the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), and successful graduates receive UAE licenses that can be converted to licenses of other ICAO member states, subject to local regulations.

The Chief Flight Instructor is a full-time, on-site role based in Fujairah Emirate, United Arab Emirates. This role is responsible for overseeing all flight training operations, ensuring compliance with UAE GCAA and ICAO standards, and maintaining the highest levels of flight safety and instructional quality. Day-to-day tasks include supervising and mentoring flight instructors, developing and reviewing training syllabi, conducting check flights and proficiency evaluations, and monitoring student progress across Private, Commercial, and Airline Transport Pilot programs.

The Chief Flight

Instructor collaborates with academy leadership on training policies, contributes to instructor recruitment and development, and ensures aircraft utilization and scheduling support efficient, safe training. The role also requires active involvement in safety management activities, incident reporting and analysis, and continuous improvement of training procedures and standards.

Qualifications

• Strong piloting background with demonstrated proficiency in Commercial Piloting and Airline Transport-level operations.
• Comprehensive experience in Instrument Rating training and operations, including IFR procedures and navigation.
• Deep knowledge of Aviation regulations, UAE GCAA requirements, and ICAO standards relevant to flight training.
• Proven commitment to Flight Safety, including implementing and supporting safety management systems and risk mitigation practices.
• Valid Commercial Pilot License or Airline Transport Pilot License, with appropriate instructional and examiner ratings as required by UAE GCAA.
• Substantial experience as a Flight Instructor, including oversight of multi-level pilot training programs.
• Strong leadership, mentoring, and team management skills, with the ability to guide diverse instructors and students.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide clear, constructive feedback and safety-focused guidance.
• Experience in syllabus development, training program design, and quality assurance in a flight training environment.
• Ability to work on-site

Key Requirements & Qualifications

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of active CFI experience.

Flight Time: At least 4,000 hours of instructional flight time.

Pilot License: Valid Commercial Pilot License (CPL) or Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) - Aeroplane.
