Development Engineer / Sr. Engineer

Role Description

We are seeking a Project Engineer / Senior Project Engineer to join our Development team in Abu Dhabi.

Reporting to the Project Assistant Manager – Development, you will support the delivery of owner-side data center development projects across the full project lifecycle —from design coordination and procurement through construction, commissioning, and handover.

The successful candidate will work closely with consultants, contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate design reviews, technical submittals, and engineering documentation
• Monitor construction progress, conduct site inspections, and ensure compliance with approved designs and quality standards
• Manage RFIs, NCRs, technical queries, and contractor coordination activities
• Support procurement processes, bid evaluations, contract administration, and long-lead equipment tracking
• Monitor project costs, variations, payment applications, and cash flow forecasts
• Coordinate commissioning activities, including FATs, SATs, punch list management, and operational readiness
• Support project handover activities, including as-built documentation, O&M manuals, and lessons learned
• Maintain project records, document control systems, and reporting dashboards
• Ensure compliance with HSE requirements and project governance standards

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline
• Project Engineer: 2–4 years of relevant experience in infrastructure, data center, energy, or industrial projects
• Senior Project Engineer: 4–6 years of relevant experience with demonstrated ownership of construction packages and commissioning activities
• Experience in owner-side or EPC environments is preferred
• Experience with data center, hyperscale, or critical infrastructure projects is highly desirable
• Strong understanding of MEP systems, construction methods, contract administration, and quality assurance processes
• Experience managing RFIs, NCRs, submittals, variations, and commissioning activities
• Familiarity with project management and document control platforms such as Aconex, Procore, or similar systems is an advantage
• Professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent are desirable
