We’re hiring: Mechatronics Engineer

Codebrew is looking for a Mechatronics Engineer who likes building things that move, react, interact and occasionally require a little creative problem-solving to make possible.

This isn’t a traditional engineering role. You’ll be working at the intersection of mechanical design, electronics, software, automation and emerging technology, developing and prototyping systems that become part of real-world interactive and experiential projects.

What you’ll be working on:

• Designing and developing electro-mechanical and automated systems
• Taking ideas from concept and prototyping through to testing and implementation
• Working with microcontrollers, sensors and embedded systems
• Mechanical design, 3D modelling and circuit design
• Programming and debugging automated and sensor-driven systems
• Integrating hardware and software into reliable, working solutions
• Troubleshooting, testing and improving systems in the workshop and on live projects
• Exploring new technologies and figuring out how we can actually use them

What we’re looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Electronics Engineering or a related field
• 3–5 years of relevant experience
• Hands-on experience with Arduino, Raspberry Pi and embedded development
• Working knowledge of C/C++ and/or C# / Python
• Experience with SolidWorks and AutoCAD
• Understanding of sensors, electronics, circuit design and hardware/software integration
• Strong troubleshooting skills and, most importantly, the ability to turn an idea into something that actually works

Experience with robotics, KUKA, Unity/XR, AR, interactive technology or experiential environments would definitely stand out.

We’re particularly interested in engineers who are naturally curious, hands-on and comfortable experimenting. Someone who doesn't just see a technical brief and ask “how do we build this?” but also “how can we make this better?”
