Work with children’s and their family on school and in the community.
I qualified as an Informal Educator, and after almost 10 years, I decided to complete my Masters in Social Work. This has allowed me to work in a variety of roles and settings which include, schools, Local Government roles and with faith based charities. Working with diverse communities, children and their families has helped me to maintain an open minded compassionate position whilst keeping a high standard which is evidenced by the "Good and Outstanding" Ofsted rated organisations I have worked for in the UK.
I am truly passionate about supporting children to reach their full potential. To do this to the best of my ability, I complete various training like Systemic Therapy. Training, reading and listening to podcasts helps me to be a creative and passionate practitioner. I work closely with families. Having excellent communication skills and patience, helps me have difficult conversations whilst maintaining positive relationships.
I have an in-depth understanding of safeguarding due to my experience in Child Protection. Keeping to statutory deadlines and accurate record keeping are imperative skills I have had to perfect. Working within schools, I was able to implement safeguarding within the education system which also included working alongside teachers to bring out the best in their students.
Mentoring young people has been a privilege as I have been able to encourage those who may have additional learning needs find their strengths and overcome obstacles to plan for a bright future.
I like to keep myself busy in and out of work. I workout regularly and enjoy cooking. This helps to maintain positive fitness and mental health. I have an interest in Martial Arts as it helps to develop discipline.
