Aswathi Krishnan

I, Aswathi Krishnan Aravil, currently working as Head of the Department of Science and Physics Teacher of Grades 9 & 10 at The Indian International School, DSO. Given below are the key responsibilities:

• Provide leadership for, and facilitation of the staff members working within the department
• Facilitating the development of the department as a team, with a shared vision and shared values and beliefs
• Developing appropriate schemes of work
• Developing appropriate assessment and reporting, planning, arranging, and controlling resources
• Developing and monitoring positive learning environments
• Planning and facilitating professional learning for the department
• Encourage and foster professional growth among the teachers within the department
• Work with new teachers, providing professional guidance, advice, and support
• Develop question banks and encourage teachers to use the resources to enhance students’ skills of understanding and applying

Science HoD: Currently working as a Science HoD for Grades 1- 10 in The Indian High Group of Schools( The Indian International School). Also working as a Physics Teacher for grades 9 and 10.

Physics Lead Teacher: Worked as a Physics teacher in The Indian High School, Dubai from November 1, 2016, and then Promoted as Physics Lead Teacher in The Indian High School, Dubai from February 2019 to till date. I also held the position of Class Teacher in Grade 9 for 2 years.

Physics Teacher: Worked at GEMS Our Own Indian School, Al Quoz, Dubai, United Arab Emirates as a Chemistry Teacher from November 2015 to June 2016.

Physics Teacher: Worked at GEMS Our Own High School, Al Warqa, Dubai, United Arab Emirates as a Science Teacher from September 2015 to October 2015.

Physics Teacher: Worked at Noorul Hudha English Medium High School Kottikulam, Kasaragod, Kerala as a physics Teacher from June 2014 to March 2015.

I have been a teacher for seven years in total. I taught students in grades 9 and 10 in Physics. I am currently the HoD for Grades 1 to 10.
