Elisha Philip

I’m an apparel designer with hands-on experience across textile development, garment construction, and sustainable design practices, backed by a strong understanding of product and market alignment. I’ve worked on end-to-end collections, experimenting with fabric manipulation, natural dyes, and jacquard weaving to deliver designs that are both functional and visually compelling. Beyond the craft, I understand how to position products strategically, balancing creativity with cost-efficiency, timelines, and brand identity.

My work is driven by purpose, detail, and a sharp eye for what resonates. I design with intent, to build pieces that not only look good but perform commercially.

• I’ve led and contributed to apparel projects from concept to execution, designing original collections using handloom fabrics, natural dyes, and advanced pattern-making.
•  At Saral Arts Design Studio, I developed jacquard-based textile products, launched a handbag line aligned with market trends, and reduced costs through smart vendor negotiation. 
• I’ve also collaborated with traditional weavers in Tamil Nadu, deepening my expertise in sustainable techniques and heritage textiles. My experience blends hands-on craftsmanship with commercial awareness, backed by strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a sharp eye for design that performs in the real world.

• During my time at the School of Fashion Technology, I specialized in textile design and garment construction, graduating with a strong GPA of 8.9 and earning the Best Collection in Textile Design award for my final apparel line. 
• My projects focused on innovation through natural dyeing, fabric manipulation, and silhouette exploration, combining technical precision with a strong visual narrative. Beyond the studio, I led multiple college events and chaired MUN conferences, sharpening my communication, leadership, and storytelling skills.
