Hello, I am a qualified native speaker with close to 14 years experience gained in London, Cape Town and the UAE. I hold a teaching degree with an English Language and Literature major, and a TEFL certificate from ITTT. I've worked in a number of language schools with students from all over the world and also with professionals in a freelance capacity.
I specialise in working with students to complete the IELTS exam successfully and also assist in developing speaking and writing skills and in the improvement of pronunciation. I have a highly interactive style of teaching that focuses on real-life connection and make extensive use of online media, language learning apps, films and music. Lessons are tailored to the unique needs of the student at all times.
I began my career in 2009 working in language schools in London in Turnpike Lane and Oxford street, teaching General English and Cambridge CAE (now C1 Advanced). I also taught IELTS for University entrance in a private capacity.
I then moved back to Cape Town where I worked with professionals in the oil industry at LTC (the , Language Teaching Centre). I taught General English and ESP (English for Special Purposes), and also designed and implemented a TEFL training course. I was offered the position of DOS (Director of Studies) but decided to go back overseas instead.
I also worked for the English Language School (Greenmarket Square) and EF International in Cape Town.
I then relocated to the UAE where I worked with the American Core Curriculum and CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning).
I now work in a freelance capacity in Dubai with professionals from all over the world.
