I completed my M.B.B.S at the Christian Medical College and Hospital, Vellore, India from 2000-2006, following which I did two years of service obligation in a primary healthcare centre in India. Following a passion and leading to do paediatrics I did a 3-year paediatric residency program at the Christian Medical College and Hospital, India and was awarded the degree of D.N.B. (Paediatrics) from the National Board of Examinations, Delhi. I was a clinical tutor in Paediatrics for a year, following which I was promoted to Assistant Professor of Paediatrics at Christian Medical College and Hospital from April 2012 – August 2016. From July 2013 till July 2016, I worked as an Assistant Professor of Paediatrics, in the Paediatric Hematology-Oncology sub-unit of the Department of Pediatrics at the Christian Medical College and Hospital, Vellore. Due to a keen interest to pursue further clinical training in paediatric oncology, I went on study leave to complete a 3-year super-specialist training program in Paediatric oncology at the Regional Cancer Centre, Trivandrum, India from August 2016 – July 2019 and obtained the degree of D.M. (Doctorate in Medicine) in Paediatric Oncology. Subsequently, from August 2019 till date (2 years and 10 months) I have been continuing my clinical practice as an Associate Professor of Pediatrics in the Pediatric Hematology-Oncology sub-unit of the Department of Pediatrics of Christian Medical College and Hospital, Vellore, India.
SKILLS GAINED IN PAEDIATRIC ONCOLOGY
I have been working in the field of pediatric oncology and haematology for about 8 years now. I have acquired the below listed skills required to be a successful and independent pediatric oncologist. I also train pediatric postgraduate resident trainees in these below listed skills.
- I take lectures/tutorials for MBBS, Nursing and other Allied Health students in General Pediatrics and Pediatric Oncology
