• Implements standard protocols for patients requiring radiographic examinations
Plans, prepares and performs the common radiologic procedures well including the selection of settings, the proper positioning of the patient, the development of the film and the quality of the image.
- Prepares the patients physically and mentally for examinations.
- While performing their role the RT is responsible for the radiation protection, patient care and quality assurance of the radiological process
- Assists a senior radiologic technologist in performing special radiologic procedures
- Consults the radiologist when further views are necessary for a patient and performs procedure if indicated.
- Ensures that all relevant documents including films of prior procedures accompany the films of the present examination for interpretation.
Files x-ray radiographs following departmental and DOH policy.
- Performs venipuncture without supervision
- Ensures the proper disposal of needles and other sharps utilized for a procedure into the proper sharps collector receptacle correctly.
- Reports any machine problems to the department head.
- Maintains cleanliness of the X-Ray room and its equipment
Maintains the digital patients' record.
