Lead Python Web Engineer

Responsibilities

Enhance the performance of current services

Optimize indexing efficiency with parallelized processing

Apply per-project indexing strategies for better adaptability

Enable caching of indexed overlays to improve overall functionality

Modify the task scheduler to support ongoing overlay downloads and indexing

Introduce throttling mechanisms to regulate download speeds for optimal indexing rates

Collaborate with the Solr team to segment indexes to accommodate future growth

Requirements

5+ years of relevant professional experience in a related area

1+ years of leadership experience in a comparable capacity

Proficiency in Python programming with a specialization in web development

Skills in deploying services via Amazon Elastic Container Service

Background in Infrastructure as Code development and maintenance using Terraform

Competency in Apache Solr for indexing and search operations

Familiarity with Redis for efficient data caching

Qualifications in English language skills for effective communication within the team
