Senior Software Engineer

As a core member of our Engineering team, the Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for working on critical product initiatives and enhancements. This person will perform backend software development and help debug across various microservices and databases. They will also engage with engineering colleagues within and outside the team to design solutions and solve problems.

What You’ll Do:

● Collaborate with engineers and product managers across the organization to understand and tackle technical challenges specific to the Canadian market.

● Write clean, well-tested, and efficient code.

● Be deeply engaged in the full development lifecycle: designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, monitoring, and improving software.

● Share your technical expertise during architectural design discussions and provide hands-on mentorship.

● Play a critical role in implementing a design and service-oriented architecture for our Canadian products.

What You’ll Bring:

● Extensive hands-on software design and development experience in OOP and Java.

● A strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and complexity analysis.

● Strong experience with relational databases.

● Some experience with service-oriented architecture and distributed systems.

● Experience with AWS and Terraform would be a huge plus.

● Knowledge of the Spring framework is a plus.

● Deep understanding of design patterns.

● Some knowledge of CI/CD pipelines.

● Self-led, capable of working with little direction, and able to resolve blockers.

● Skilled communicator with a collaborative spirit.
