With over twenty years of experience in the Human and Social Services fields, I am looking to utilize and expand my skills at the next level. In both my current and previous employments, I have been promoted based on my hard work, dedication and the desire to see our programs succeed. I would welcome the chance to be an integral part of the Department of Transitional Assistance, while gaining new knowledge, skills and experience.
Program Manager at The United Arc (2011-06 – Present)
Although my experience with The United Arc began in 2003, first as Direct Care staff and then as Receptionist, for the past fifteen years my role has been in the Positive Parenting program. Starting out as a Parent Educator and Home Visitor, I was promoted to Program Coordinator in December 2019, and then to Program Manager in October of 2021. My responsibilities have included working with parents on parenting skills, child development, behavior management and supervised visitation services.
I have served as a role-model for parents, demonstrating positive child-rearing practices in both their home and supervised visitation settings. I have collaborated with other program staff, service providers and parents to provide those parents with learning opportunities and the most appropriate services and resources available to them. I continue to attend relevant trainings, workshops and conferences to maintain and enhance my professional skills.
I am a current member and have served as a Co-Chair of the Massachusetts Coalition for Supervised Visitation (MCSV).
Assistant Coordinator at Community Action (2005-09 – 2011-05)
I began my employment with Community Action as an Information & Referral Specialist in the First Call for Help program. In 2008 I was promoted to Sr. I & R Specialist, overseeing two staff members and providing their offices with support. In 2009 I was promoted to Assistant Coordinator.
