The Opportunity

We're looking for a skilled Data Engineer with strong experience in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Python, SQL, and modern data platforms . You'll play a key role in building, validating, testing, and supporting enterprise-scale data solutions that process high-volume transactional data across cloud-native environments.

Working closely with data engineers, architects, DevOps teams, and business stakeholders, you'll help deliver scalable, reliable, high-performing, and well-tested data platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and support cloud-native data solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Implement and maintain cloud workflows using services including BigQuery, Cloud Run, Cloud Build, Cloud Scheduler, and Workflows.
• Develop scalable Python and SQL solutions to process, validate, and reconcile large volumes of transactional data.
• Design and implement automated data validation and testing frameworks to ensure data quality and integrity.
• Build automated regression testing for cloud-based data platforms and data pipelines.
• Integrate automated testing, validation, and code quality checks into CI/CD pipelines.
• Work with graph databases, including Neo4j, using the Cypher query language.
• Build and optimise ETL pipelines, data transformations, and data integration processes.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and availability across multiple data layers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues and continuously improve platform performance.

About You

You'll ideally bring:

• Proven experience as a Data Engineer working with modern cloud-based data platforms.
• Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) , including BigQuery, Cloud Run, Cloud Build, Cloud Scheduler, and Workflows .
• Advanced Python and SQL development skills.
• Experience with Python package management and development best practices.
• Experience using Git , pre-commit hooks/libraries , and maintaining high code quality.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines , including automated code quality checks, testing, and deployment processes.
• Experience designing and implementing automated testing for data pipelines and cloud platforms.
• Experience validating high-volume transactional data using automated reconciliation and data quality techniques.
• Experience with graph databases, ideally Neo4j , and strong knowledge of the Cypher query language.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing, ETL frameworks, and data transformation techniques.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder communication skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience with pytest , unittest , or other Python testing frameworks.
• Experience implementing automated regression testing for cloud-based data platforms.
• Experience with data quality frameworks such as Great Expectations or similar.
• Experience supporting DevOps and DataOps practices.
• Experience with modern code review processes and automated quality gates.
