Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Java Developer to join an Agile, cross-functional team responsible for migrating a large-scale on-premises microservices platform to AWS cloud infrastructure. The role involves hands-on development, cloud migration, production support, and close collaboration with business and technical stakeholders to deliver scalable, resilient, and secure solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in the migration of an on-premise Java Spring Boot microservices platform to AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Perform impact analysis on solution and feature design options, providing recommendations while identifying and managing associated risks.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and product teams to ensure technical solutions meet business requirements.
- Design, develop, deploy, and maintain Java Spring Boot microservices following industry best practices.
- Contribute to automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, code quality improvements, and DevOps practices.
- Participate in code reviews and technical discussions to ensure solutions meet functional and non-functional requirements.
- Support day-to-day platform operations, including incident management, problem investigation, issue resolution, and environment support across production, testing, and development landscapes.
- Assist with change management, release deployments, and occasional weekend implementation activities.
- Participate in an on-call support rotation approximately once every three weeks to support critical production incidents and service restoration activities.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices Architecture.
- Experience working in AWS cloud environments and cloud migration projects.
- Knowledge of RESTful APIs, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures.
- Experience with CI/CD tools, automated testing, and DevOps practices.
- Strong understanding of software design principles, performance optimization, and secure coding practices.
- Experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery teams.
- Ability to perform root-cause analysis and troubleshoot complex production issues.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, ECS/EKS, or containerized deployments.
- Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation).
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, CloudWatch, ELK, Dynatrace, or AppDynamics.
- Prior experience supporting mission-critical enterprise platforms.
