Your new role

We are seeking an experienced Principal Java Engineer to join a specialist development team responsible for the ongoing enhancement, support and delivery of a complex cloud-based application environment.

Working within an Agile delivery team, you will contribute across full-stack development, backend services, cloud integration and database design while supporting a critical operational platform used 24/7.

• Developing enterprise-grade Java applications
• Building and maintaining React-based user interfaces
• Designing and implementing Oracle database solutions
• Developing REST and SOAP integration services
• Supporting AWS cloud-based services and integrations
• Maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Maven and Git
• Producing technical design documentation
• Participating in software releases and deployment activities
• Supporting operational incidents through an on-call roster

What you'll need to succeed

• Extensive enterprise Java development experience (8+ years)
• Strong Spring Boot, JEE, Hibernate and JPA expertise
• AWS development experience across core cloud services
• Strong Oracle database and data modelling knowledge
• Experience developing APIs and integration services
• ReactJS front-end development experience
• Linux/Unix administration and scripting skills
• CI/CD experience using Jenkins, Maven and Git
• Strong documentation and stakeholder communication skills
• Baseline Security Clearance or eligibility to obtain
