Job Description

Role Overview

• We are looking for a highly experienced SQL professional with deep expertise in complex SQL query design and optimization.
• The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SQL (including experience in PL/SQL or other RDBMS systems) and some exposure to Python (Pandas) development for data transformation and automation.
• This role focuses exclusively on Google BigQuery SQL development for advanced analytics and data transformations. So, experience with Google cloud is a plus but not mandatory, but candidate should be willing to train themselves in various Google Cloud technologies for this role on joining the project.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize complex SQL queries and views in Google Big-Query for large-scale analytical workloads.
• Implement advanced transformations and aggregations using Big Query's capabilities (e.g., window functions, CTEs, partitioning).
• Collaborate with analysts and business stakeholders to translate requirements into efficient BigQuery solutions.
• Use Python (Pandas) for data wrangling and automation scripts where needed.
• Troubleshoot performance issues and optimize BigQuery query execution plans.
• Ensure compliance with data governance and security standards.

Required Skills & Experience

• 12 years of hands-on experience in SQL development (experience in PL/SQL or other RDBMS is acceptable).
• Strong expertise in Google BigQuery or similar cloud-based data warehouses is preferred but not mandatory
• Self starter with ability to interact with Onshore and deliver SQL solutions independently.
• Proven ability to write and optimize complex SQL queries for large datasets.
• Basic experience with Python, especially Pandas for data manipulation.
• Solid understanding of data modeling, partitioning, and performance tuning in BigQuery.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Nice-to-Have

• Familiarity with ETL tools and data pipeline concepts.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (GCP preferred).
