During my internship at Inspire Wellness Centre in Nairobi, I worked under a psychologist and an occupational therapist, analyzing case studies on anxiety and depression, and gaining practical knowledge of interventions like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness-based practices. I observed therapy sessions, conducted mental state examinations, and refined my skills in emotional well-being assessments, active listening, and motivational interviewing. Previously, at OMASHRAM TRUST in Bangalore, I provided socio-emotional support to elderly individuals, observed psycho-motor performance, introduced mindfulness-based meditation, and developed long-term plans to improve their overall well-being.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology (Honours) and am pursuing a Master of Counselling at Monash University, Clayton campus. I am a certified Mental Health First Aider® and have completed SafeTalk (Suicide Awareness for Everyone) training, equipping me to provide initial help to individuals experiencing mental health crises.
