Key Responsibilities

• Raise approximately 3,000 broiler chickens from day-old chicks until market age (approximately 50 days).
• Prepare poultry houses before each production cycle by washing, cleaning, disinfecting, and spreading fresh sawdust.
• Prepare the brooding house before chicks arrive by ensuring the correct temperature, clean drinkers, feeders, and proper ventilation.
• Use wood-fired heating to maintain the correct brooding temperature for 10–14 days, depending on the season.
• Prepare drinking water with anti-stress solution before newly arrived chicks are placed in the brooding house.
• Feed birds according to the farm feeding program and ensure birds have continuous access to clean drinking water.
• Closely monitor chicks during the brooding period because young chicks require constant observation and special care.
• Observe birds throughout the day to identify any signs of sickness or abnormal behaviour.
• Administer vaccines according to the farm vaccination schedule.
• Withhold drinking water before vaccination to encourage birds to consume the vaccine quickly.
• Replace vaccine water with clean drinking water after the recommended time to maintain vaccine effectiveness.
• Administer preventive medications as directed.
• Provide vitamins when birds show reduced appetite or require nutritional support.
• Maintain accurate daily and weekly records of feed consumption.
• Maintain accurate mortality records.
• Mix poultry feed using approved feed formulas.
• Catch and safely load birds for transportation to customers.
• Maintain strict biosecurity by using dedicated footwear before entering poultry houses, sanitizing hands before entering, restricting unnecessary access, and keeping poultry house doors closed.
• Isolate sick birds for observation and treatment to help reduce disease spread.
• Remove dead birds immediately and dispose of them safely outside the poultry environment.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the poultry farm.
