James Sando

An avid sportsman, with a high work ethic, good communication and organisation skills. Recently graduated from the University of Portsmouth with a 2:1 in Mechanical Engineering. Attaining an in-depth knowledge of scientific principles and processes while also further developing problem solving and analytical skills.

Employed part time throughout studies, delicately balancing time amongst professional and academic responsibilities.

Currently on a working year working holiday in Australia, and open to work.

Geronimo Farm Equipment, Australia; Labourer / Junior Builder (April - November 2023)

• Assembled farm machinery such as grain belts and augers.
• Complete on-site repairs and installations of farm machinery and silos. 
• Keep the yard clean, and stock organised.
• Load and unload trucks and containers.
• Labouring experience, such as; digging trenches, laying drainage pipe, concreting ground work and pouring , power tools.

Browns Brasserie and Bar, UK; Bartender (August 2022 - December 2022)

• Worked on a busy full service bar with an extensive cocktail menu, and trained as a barista. Developed a sense of urgency and ability to serve multiple customers at once, without sacrificing quality.
• Provided recommendations to customers and altered drinks to customers palate’s, developing large product knowledge.
• Trained new bartenders, carried out stock count and organised deep clean.

University of Portsmouth (2019 – 2022) Graduating with a 2:1 bachelor’s in mechanical engineering.

• Engineering Design, Thermodynamics and fluid mechanics, Computer aided engineering, product manufacture, engineering mathematics and numerical analysis.
• Final report based on the recharging of electric vehicles with accompanying simulations, achieving 74/100.
