Leah Cashman

I am freelance interior designer with a formal education in fashion design, over a decade of experience in the fashion industry as a designer and now working as an interior designer, along side my current part-time position as an analyst.

I have a diverse skill set with a formal education in fashion design, over a decade of experience in the fashion industry as a designer and now working in the interior design industry. I have completed a degree in interior design and decoration from RMIT. I currently work as a freelance interior designer, along with my current part-time position as an analyst. In my spare time I am hunting for vintage furniture, poring over design and history books and making my own ceramics and objects.

I have gained experience across varying projects from high-end residential and commercial design,

collaborating on furniture sourcing, material selection, product sourcing, and procurement. I have experience in the execution of all stages of project development, detailed design and delivery. I have excellent attention to detail with a focus on delivering high quality visual communication and documentation.

My design intent is delivered with sustainability at the forefront, cost effective solutions and excellent strategic thinking and problem solving. With proficiency in cad programs, Adobe suite, and new AI platforms, I bring a high degree of detail resolution and creativity to projects. As much as I love the technical, my true obsession is all things furniture!

Finding great pieces, researching the origins, speaking with the designers/makers, understanding the construction and bringing together pieces that resonate with each other.

My design sensibility and creativity is combined with excellent communication skills, effective time management, team collaboration and the ability to work independently. I am excited about the opportunity to bring my skills to a studios vision and to contribute to the continued success of the studio.

I have an associate degree in Interior design and decoration from RMIT.

I also have a diploma in Fashion design and production from RMIT. And various certificates in Intelligence analysis.
