About

Materials science PhD candidate with hands-on experience in advanced materials engineering & microscopy characterization, particularly SEM, FIB-based TEM specimen preparation, TEM/STEM, EDS and XRD. Experienced in linking microstructure, crystallography and composition across bulk and thin-film materials, supported by materials synthesis and complementary physical-property measurements. Research experience spans Bi2Te3-based layered materials, defect engineering and structure-property relationships, with a strong record of peer-reviewed publication and collaborative laboratory work.

Experience

Ph.D. Candidate (Full time) - Queensland University of Technology - Brisbane, Australia

(2023-07)

  • Synthesised Bi2Te3-based bulk materials by melting and SPS method and thin films by PVD system.
  • Microstructure characterization and phase identification by XRD, SEM with EDS and TEM/STEM with EDS, including preparation of electron transparent specimens by FIB and PIPS.
  • Analysed nanoscale defects, interfaces, composition and crystallography to relate processing conditions to material structure and behaviour.
  • Thermoelectric performance measurement by ZEM-3, LFA, STPM and LaserPIT.

Research Assistant (Casual) - The University of Queensland - Brisbane, Australia

(2023-02 - 2023-06)

  • Modified TiO2 by NaBH4 reduction and by photo-deposition method.
  • Characterized the materials by XRD and UV-Vis, XPS, TGA and FT-IR.
  • Estimated the performance of Au-Blue-TiO2 for oxidative coupling of methane via GC.

Quality inspector (Internship) - Suzhou Highfine Biotech Co., Ltd. - Suzhou, China

(2021-12 - 2022-04)

  • Performed product quality and purity analysis via HPLC and GC in Quality Control Department.
  • Improved chromatographic separation method for selected products with R&D staff.
  • Supported quality-audit activities and laboratory documentation.
