Back End Developer (Java / Python) – Equity-Based

Role Description

This is a founding-level Backend Developer role at EternaSky Co. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining core backend systems that power our applications.

You will work closely with frontend developers, designers, and other team members to build scalable, secure, and high-performance systems from the ground up.

This role requires a strong understanding of backend architecture, clean coding practices, and the ability to adapt in a fast-moving startup environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend systems and APIs
• Build scalable and efficient server-side logic using Java or Python
• Work with databases (SQL/NoSQL) and optimize performance
• Ensure security, reliability, and scalability of applications
• Collaborate with frontend and UI/UX teams for seamless integration
• Debug, test, and improve existing systems
• Follow best practices in software engineering and version control

Required Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Back-End Development and Software Engineering principles
• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
• Proficiency in Java or Python
• Basic understanding of APIs, databases, and system design
• Familiarity with frontend concepts (integration perspective)
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work in a collaborative team environment

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

• Experience with frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot, Django, Flask)
• Knowledge of RESTful API design
• Understanding of Git and version control workflows
• Exposure to cloud platforms or deployment processes
• Experience in building scalable or secure applications

This is currently an equity-based (unpaid) founding team opportunity.

Candidates should be genuinely interested in building a startup from the ground up, gaining hands-on experience, and growing into future paid roles as the company scales.
