• *Introduction**

We are seeking a highly experienced Staff Software Engineer to join our innovative Opal/AI tool development team. You'll be instrumental in building cutting-edge AI-powered tools and services that integrate seamlessly with Optimizely's Opal/AI ecosystem through APIs, chat interfaces, and intelligent agents. This role focuses on Opal tools development through natural language and automated workflows presented to our customers via our Opal AI platform. The AI tools you build will democratize access to complex optimization workflows, allowing users to discover insights, execute tasks, and coordinate actions across multiple systems. You should be passionate for continuous learning, experimenting, applying, and contributing towards innovative technologies and software paradigms.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday (2 PM to 10 PM)

• *Knowledge And Experience
• 7+ years of software engineering experience with proven track record in web application development, API design and development of RESTful web services or GraphQL.
• 1+ years hands-on experience developing chat interfaces, LLM APIs, conversational AI, MCP, and agent-based systems/workflows.
• Knowledge of prompt engineering, context management, and conversation flow design
• 4+ years hands-on experience with React and TypeScript for building modern web applications
• 3+ years experience with Node.js for backend development, tooling, and API services
• Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress for React/TypeScript/JavaScript applications
• Strong background in test-driven development and performance optimization
• Experience with monitoring, observability, and security best practices
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and cross-functional team collaboration
• Implement automation tools and frameworks (CI/CD pipelines)

• Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science or Engineering or related majors desirable

• Experience with Optimizely products (CMS, CMP, Commerce, Experimentation, etc.)
• Hands-on experience with integration platforms (iPaaS, workflow automation tools like n8n, Zapier, Workato, or MuleSoft).
• Strong knowledge of data transformation, mapping, and synchronization patterns across SaaS products.
• Strong collaboration skills and experience working in cross-functional teams (product, data, and platform engineering).
• Experience with machine learning, natural language processing and intent recognition
• Experience building intelligent agents capable of automating complex workflows
• Experience with modern React patterns (hooks, context, state management libraries)
• Knowledge of full-stack JavaScript/TypeScript development
• Understanding authentication and authorization protocols such as SAML, OAuth, OIDC.
• Contributions to open-source projects related to AI tools or conversational interfaces
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and advanced CI/CD practices
• Track record of technical leadership and mentoring junior engineers
• Experience in Kubernetes, Docker, JVM, AWS, distributed systems, queues, HA, scalability, and reliability.
• Understanding the value of pair programming/TDD/Clean Code
