I have completed a four-year undergraduate course in drama and dramatics at Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh. My formal training has led me to build a firm foundation in drama and film. I have gained theoretical knowledge and practical experiences from extensive fieldwork and lab-based productions on drama and dramatics.
I have also worked as a trained and professional puppeteer and developed several scripts at the Bangladesh Puppet Drama Research and Development Centre (BPDRDC). Eventually, I was selected as a volunteer art designer by IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature) on International World Wildlife Day to raise awareness about the human-elephant conflict at Rohingya refugee camps at Cox's Bazar in Bangladesh. Experiences with the Rohingya refugees made me realize the importance of incorporating ethnographical and anthropological perspectives into documentary filmmaking.
However, how this visual media is integrated into various human lives, societies, and civilizations to make specific actions reproducible remains poorly understood, as well as how the environment of a particular refugee minority is shaped and affected by human-environment relations effect on their nationality and citizenship. Therefore, I am highly motivated to further improve my understanding of human-environment conflict and document the same through visual media highlighting the social life of refugee communities.
With a Bachelor's degree in Drama and Dramatics and a Master’s degree in Theatre design, including several years of experience working in various roles within the film and television industry, I possess a deep understanding of the nuances of storytelling and the art of filmmaking as well as theatrical production. My experience in film media and as a theatre designer has given me the skills to create and execute exciting and thought-provoking stories for diverse audiences.
I am pursuing my second master's degree in Society and Culture at IIT Gandhinagar, Palaj, Gujarat, India.
