Dr. M. Shahab Uddin

I have served for 33 years and 05 months in Agriculture Cadre Services in different positions under Bangladesh Civil Services. In addition to my Civil Services, I have also served in many remarkable positions such as Project Manager, International Master Trainer, FAO Consultant. I am an environment and agriculture enthusiast who is dedicated and honest to his work.

I have served for 33 years and 05 months in Agriculture Cadre Services in different positions under Bangladesh Civil Services. In addition to my Civil Services, I have also served in the following expertise assignments:

• Project Manager (Consultant) from 08 November 2020 to till now in Bangladesh Reginal Connectivity Project-1 (BRCP-1), Ministry of Commerce [Financed by The International Development Association (IDA)-The World Bank Group].

• Project Management Officer (National Consultant, on Lien) for about 39 months on Integrated Agricultural Productivity Project (IAPP) with financial assistance from the Global Agriculture and Food Security Program (GAFSP) under the supervision of the World Bank (WB) and technical assistance by FAO, Under the Ministry of Agriculture (MOA) and Ministry of Fisheries & Livestock (MOFL), Bangladesh.

• International Master Trainer (on Lien) two times in Afghanistan) on the UN-FAO, IPM program.

• FAO Consultant (on Lien) in the UN-FAO, Global IPM Facility in Kyrgyzstan.

• “Expert Facilitator/Master Trainer” (on deputation) for about 33 months on the EU funded CDB-FAO-EU Cotton IPM Project (Regional Cotton IPM Program for Asia), Cotton Development Board, Ministry of Agriculture, Bangladesh.

•  Served as the head of planning wing of Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE), Agriculture Information Service (AIS), district and sub-districts of DAE, Ministry of Agriculture.

I have worked in different projects funded by GOB and various development partners and gathered experiences in Policy Making, Training and Communication activities. I have assisted in arranging a remarkable number of Project Management Committee (PMC) meetings, Project Steering Committee (PSC) meetings and monthly meetings and have prepared the working paper as well as minutes of the meetings. I have also supported all committees under Project management in IAPP and IPM project for smooth running of the project activities.

I have coordinated about 200 Farmer Field School (FFS) formations following PRA methodology and more than 100 farmer association (IPM club) formation and have achieved experience on community mobilization. I had liaison with different implementing agencies; GO, NGO and other related stakeholders. I have prepared and maintained all the related documents/ records of different projects and prepared 4 interim reports and assisted in the preparation of 05 Project completion reports (PCR).

Provided technical assistance to Project Director and Deputy Project Director in preparing work plan and performed any other activities assigned by the PD. I am familiar with using Microsoft Office Word, Microsoft PowerPoint and Internet applications and have the ability to work independently or in a team.
