I have been working more than five (5) years as Assistant Manager (EMS) at Four H
Dyeing & Printing Ltd (Textile Division), Chittagong, Bangladesh. I have to perform the following responsibilities.
I am to ensure Compliance with environmental legislation and need to keep up- to- date on the latest Government environmental regulation ECA & ECR.
Developing Environment management plan (EMP) & EMS, Assessing & reviewing
Overall EMS (Environmental management System) & HSE monitoring including first aid &
fire safety
Identifying and resolving environmental problems, conducting risk assessment and ensuring necessary changes are implemented.
Environmental audit, analyzing and reporting environmental performance related issues to concern department.
Setting target, Long term strategy, implementation plan & planning for water, energy,
chemical & waste reduce/ reuse for environmental improvement.
Monitoring environmental health & safety checklist, Waste management, Chemical management (ZDHC) & conduct internal audit.
Co-coordinating all aspects of pollution control to ensure air/water/sound quality, waste management and environmental health & safety
Developing organizational policy designed to meet environmental goals by testing operations and figuring out how to reduce the output of pollutants.
Implement ZDHC MRSL, RSL & Wastewater guideline
I am to face audit HIGG FEM, SLCP, SEDEX,SCM, GOTS, RCS, OCS & other social &
environmental audit
Need to deal with buyers like H&M, C&A, Tesco, Lindex, PVH, Etham, Target Australlia &
so on.
Ensuring work place complies with Occupational safety and Health standards (OHSAS).
Participating in safety committee or recommending changes to executive staff and providing training to new personnel on hazard recognition as well as coordinating the handling of hazardous material.
Aware staff at all levels on environmental health & safety issues and responsibility.
Lead the implementation of environmental policies and practice.
Keeping liaison with different regulatory authorities, government office and other relevant bodies like DOE, BERC, Department of Boiler, PDB, DIFE etc.
Monitoring ETP (Biological- MBR ETP) operation as an in charge.
Conducting ETP inlet & outlet water test (BOD, COD, DO, TDS, PH, SVI, MLSS, MLVSS,
F/M ratio etc.)
HIGG INDEX assessment & verification
Conducting EMS training, EHS/ HSE training, Personal protection equipment training,
Occupational health & safety training, Chemical handling training, Chemical leakage drill training, Wastage handling training, Material safety data sheet training, RSL/MRSL training,
Emergency Environmental Response training etc.
Maintaining ZDHC Wastewater & MRSL guideline
Have three months working experience (internship) in an NGO named CODEC
I worked on a project (CREL) which objective was to evaluate the dependency of indigenous people on alternative livelihood instead of forest (cutting trees). Before implementing CREL project the indigenous people were dependent on forest for their livelihoods. Then, CREL project initiated different alternate sectors like Fish Culture, Farming, vermicomposting etc.
The objective of our work to evaluate the fruitfulness of CREL project & review the reduction of indigenous people’s dependency on forest, accepting alternative livelihoods & their perception. Had to take social survey, FGD interview and finally submitted a project paper
Besides, have three months working experience at SGS Bangladesh Ltd. as coordinator
