Can I hide specific sections of my profile?

You cannot hide individual sections, but you can leave them empty. Only sections with content are displayed on your public profile. For contact details specifically, use the contact permissions settings to control what is shared and with whom.

Overview

BeBee gives you full control over who can find and view your profile. Whether you want maximum exposure to recruiters or a more private presence, you can adjust your visibility settings at any time.

Visibility Options

Navigate to Settings > Privacy to manage your profile visibility.

Public Profile

Your profile appears in BeBee people search results.
Recruiters can find you when searching for candidates with matching skills.
Your profile may appear in search engine results (Google, Bing).
This is the default setting and is recommended for active job seekers and service providers.

Private Profile

Your profile is hidden from people search and recruiter browsing.
Search engines will not index your profile.
You can still apply to jobs, send proposals, and use messaging normally.
People with a direct link to your profile can still view it.

Contact Permissions

Visibility and contact permissions are separate controls. Even with a public profile, your direct contact information is protected.

Phone and WhatsApp -- only visible after you verify your phone number and enable sharing in contact permissions. Requires a prior application or proposal between you and the viewer.
Email -- controlled independently. You choose whether to display your email to connections, applicants, or no one.
BeBee messaging -- always available as the default communication channel, regardless of other settings.

To adjust these, go to Settings > Contact Permissions.

Premium Visibility Boost

Premium subscribers receive additional benefits:

Higher search ranking. Your profile appears above non-premium profiles with similar qualifications.
Premium badge. A visible indicator that adds credibility to your profile.
Priority in recruiter searches. When recruiters filter candidates, Premium profiles surface first.

Best Practices

Keep your profile public if you are actively looking for jobs or clients. Hidden profiles cannot be discovered.
Review contact permissions regularly. Make sure only the channels you want to use are enabled.
Complete your profile. Visibility settings control who can find you, but a complete profile determines whether they reach out. A thorough profile with photo, headline, skills, and experience converts views into opportunities.
Toggle to private temporarily if you need a break from recruiter outreach. Switch back to public when you are ready.
