We are seeking an AI Software Engineer (Freelance) to lead a high-impact migration project for our client in Brussels. You will drive the transformation of a core business application from WPF to Blazor, leveraging AI-assisted code conversion. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of software modernization, empower development teams, and set new standards for AI-driven migration in a dynamic, bilingual Agile environment.
This role is pivotal in enabling our client's IT department to modernize mission-critical systems, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and future-readiness. Your expertise will directly influence the success of a large-scale migration, impacting all business services and setting a benchmark for AI-powered engineering excellence.

Design, develop, and coordinate the end-to-end migration from WPF to Blazor using AI-driven methodologies
Establish and implement an industrialized, scalable migration strategy
Select, configure, and optimize AI tools and frameworks for code conversion
Enable and coach development teams to execute migration tasks efficiently
Provide technical guidance, support, and best practices to cross-functional teams
Organize and lead training sessions and workshops for IT staff
Create comprehensive documentation, guidelines, and manuals to support the migration process
Collaborate closely with the AI Team Lead and report on progress and outcomes
Proven experience with AI-assisted code conversion and migration
Strong hands-on expertise in .NET and C#
Practical experience with Blazor and WPF
Familiarity with AI tooling and AI governance in software development
Experience applying generative AI to software migration projects
Native-level proficiency in Dutch or French
Good understanding of the second national language (Dutch or French)
Demonstrated results orientation and analytical thinking
Innovative, pragmatic, and proactive approach to problem-solving
Strong communication and coaching skills
Ability to work independently and take initiative
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
11-month contract (23/02/2026 – 31/12/2026)
Hybrid work model: 2 days on-site in Brussels, 3 days remote
