AWS DevOps Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to support the design, automation, and management of cloud infrastructure for a large-scale digital transformation programme within the energy sector.

This role focuses on building scalable, secure AWS environments using Infrastructure-as-Code, alongside supporting CI/CD pipelines and containerised workloads.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform
• Manage and optimise AWS environments with a focus on scalability, performance, and cost-efficiency
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and application deployments
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions
• Collaborate with development and architecture teams to ensure smooth delivery processes
• Perform basic Kubernetes operations including deployments, namespace management, and troubleshooting
• Ensure infrastructure adheres to security and compliance best practices
• Produce and maintain technical documentation

Required Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
• Minimum 4+ years’ experience in software engineering or DevOps roles
• Strong AWS expertise (5+ years), including networking and multi-account environments
• Proven experience with Terraform (3+ years)
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI or Azure DevOps
• Working knowledge of Kubernetes (EKS, deployments, services, troubleshooting)
• Solid understanding of cloud security, networking, and load balancing
• Experience working in large-scale or enterprise cloud environments
• Familiarity with secrets management and container-based deployments (e.g. Nginx)
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
