We are seeking a Senior Full-stack Developer (Java/Angular) to join our client’s major business transformation program in Brussels. What You’ll Be Doing

• Designing, developing, and maintaining robust Java applications and web services that drive business outcomes
• Contributing to architectural decisions and collaborating closely with technical leads and senior architects
• Building and integrating application components in both greenfield and legacy environments
• Participating in technical working groups, Scrum ceremonies, and user meetings to align solutions with business needs
• Supporting analysts and business stakeholders with technical expertise throughout the software development lifecycle
• Ensuring quality through test-driven development, technical documentation, deployment, and reporting (JUnit, JIRA)
• Mentoring junior developers and fostering a collaborative, high-performance team culture

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 5-7 years of full-time professional Java development experience (full-stack preferred; strong backend with frontend affinity accepted)
• Proven ability to thrive in complex, multi-system integration environments
• Ownership mindset: proactive, solution-oriented, and committed to delivering impact
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to quickly understand and improve existing codebases
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams, with a passion for continuous improvement and innovation
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to integrate seamlessly into diverse teams
• Willingness to supervise and mentor junior team members

Technical Skills

• Java (Expert), Spring Framework (Confirmed), Spring Batch (Confirmed), Spring Security
• JPA (Confirmed) with Hibernate, CQRS (Confirmed), SOA (Confirmed), Microservices
• REST (Confirmed) and SOAP (Confirmed) Web Services
• Test-driven development: JUnit, Mockito, Cypress, Selenium, CI
• Frontend: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular (Confirmed)
• Maven (Confirmed), Jenkins (Confirmed), Docker, Openshift
• Version control: SVN or GIT; IDE: Eclipse or IntelliJ; Sonar, JBoss, Tomcat
• Relational databases: PostgreSQL (Confirmed), SQL Server
• O/R mapping, BPMN, UML, technical documentation best practices
• Jira/Confluence (Junior)
• Nice to have: Talend, ZK, Oracle, Kafka

Language Proficiency

• Active knowledge of French or Dutch (understanding, speaking, writing technical documentation, reading)
• Active knowledge of English (written and team communication)

Other Requirements

• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies, test-driven development, and continuous integration
• Ability to work on-site in Brussels up to 9 hours per day, Monday to Friday, with partial homeworking (up to 3 days/week)
• Initial freelance contract until 30/06/2026, with strong potential for extension
