The IT Manager leads our technical team and collaborates with leadership to maintain a robust, secure infrastructure. By managing systems and delivering innovative solutions, this role ensures digital technology is seamlessly integrated into the school's educational goals and daily learning experiences.
Oversee the installation, distribution, configuration, and maintenance of the school's IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, and network systems
Ensure that all systems are up-to-date, fully functional, and properly integrated to support various educational and administrative needs
Collaborate with ESF colleagues, external vendors and service providers to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly
Implement and maintain secure network systems, including firewalls, access controls, and intrusion detection systems, to protect sensitive data and ensure the privacy of students, staff, and stakeholders
Develop and enforce ESF security policies and procedures to safeguard the school's digital assets from unauthorised access, viruses, and data breaches
Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend appropriate measures for improvement
Oversee the procurement, installation, and maintenance of software applications required for educational and administrative purposes
Collaborate with teachers and staff to identify software needs, provide training and support in the use of educational technology tools, and promote effective integration of technology in the curriculum
Develop and implement data management policies and procedures, ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and availability of school data
Regularly back up critical data and establish disaster recovery plans to minimise data loss and ensure business continuity in the event of system failures or emergencies
Provide technical support to staff, teachers, and students in a timely and professional manner, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and resolving technical problems efficiently
Respond to IT inquiries and service requests, either in person, via email, or through a ticketing system, and ensure that all user support needs are addressed promptly and satisfactorily
Actively support teachers and students in exploring technology solutions to enhance their work and learning experiences
Collaborate with teachers to identify innovative ways to integrate technology into the curriculum and provide guidance on selecting appropriate digital resources
Conduct training sessions and workshops for teachers and staff where necessary
Assist teachers and students in troubleshooting technology-related issues, offering guidance and solutions to ensure a seamless learning and teaching environment
Collaborate with school leadership to develop a strategic technology plan aligned with the school's goals and objectives
Provide input for the annual IT budget, ensuring the efficient allocation of resources and the procurement of necessary equipment, software licenses, and services
Requirements A qualification in systems & communication engineering is desirable
Experience of setting up, maintaining and developing existing and new systems
Experience of working in an educational institution is highly desirable
Experience in supervising an ICT support team in order to provide good service to users
Experience in creating customised solutions and applications for Data Tracking and management
Ability to adapt to changing situations and to learn new skills is essential
Ability to work harmoniously as part of the team is essential
Ability to work and manage time effectively under pressure is essential A friendly, approachable manner in relation to staff & student users is essential
Ability to communicate effectively in English is essential
Ability to diagnose and solve ICT–related problems is essential
