Are you a Mainframe Security Engineer looking for your next freelance opportunity?

We are looking for a Freelance Mainframe Security Consultant to join a large enterprise environment and contribute to the security, maintenance, and continuous improvement of its mainframe systems.

You will be involved in mainframe security activities, including access management, security administration, and the implementation of security policies and controls. Working closely with infrastructure, IT operations, and cybersecurity teams, you will help ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and security of critical systems.

Role

• Manage and maintain security access within IBM mainframe environments.
• Administer user accounts, access rights, permissions, and security profiles.
• Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of mainframe security policies and procedures.
• Support access reviews, security audits, and compliance activities.
• Investigate access issues and assist with security incident resolution.
• Monitor security controls and identify potential risks or vulnerabilities.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, operations, IAM, and cybersecurity teams.
• Ensure that security configurations and access permissions comply with internal policies.
• Participate in the improvement and optimisation of mainframe security processes.
• Maintain technical documentation and support audit requirements.

Profiel

Profile

• Experience in mainframe environments, ideally within a security-related role.
• Knowledge of IBM z/OS and mainframe security concepts.
• Familiarity with RACF administration and access management.
• Understanding of user provisioning, access controls, and security policies.
• Knowledge of IT security principles and compliance requirements.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with technical teams.
• Experience in the banking or financial services sector is an advantage.
