We are seeking a Senior Full-stack Developer (Java / Angular) to join our client’s transformation program in Brussels. This freelance role is pivotal in driving the evolution, refactoring, and greenfield development of business-critical applications. You’ll be embedded in a dynamic department, collaborating with a team of 70+ passionate professionals, and directly shaping the digital backbone of a major organization.

Your expertise will empower analysts, support business objectives, and deliver robust, scalable solutions that impact thousands of users. The stakes are high — your code will drive operational excellence and future-proof the organization.
Designing, developing, and maintaining business applications using Java and Angular
Building and integrating application components and web services (SOAP & RESTful APIs)
Collaborating closely with technical leads and software architects to shape architecture and core building blocks
Participating in technical working groups, Scrum ceremonies, and user meetings as needed
Supporting the full software development lifecycle: from concept and design to testing, deployment, and documentation
Contributing to technical documentation, deployment processes, evaluation, and reporting (JUnit, JIRA)
Mentoring and supporting junior developers within the team
5-7 years of professional Java development experience
5-7 years of professional Angular development experience
Expertise in Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, JPA (Hibernate), and Spring Security
Hands-on with SOAP and RESTful Web Services, Spring Batch, SOA, microservices, CQRS
Test-driven development: JUnit, Spring, CI, Mockito, Cypress, Selenium
Frontend: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular
Backend: Maven, Jenkins, Docker, Openshift, SVN or GIT, Eclipse or IntelliJ, Sonar, JBoss, Tomcat
Relational databases and O/R mapping: PostgreSQL, SQL Server
Ability to read and interpret BPMN, UML, and technical documentation
Nice to have: Talend, ZK, Oracle, Kafka
Active knowledge of French or Dutch (understanding, speaking, writing technical documentation, reading)
Active knowledge of English (written and team communication)
Familiarity with Agile/SCRUM methodologies, test-driven development, and continuous integration
Proven problem-solving skills and ability to quickly understand existing codebases
Solution- and customer-oriented mindset
Ability to integrate seamlessly into existing teams and supervise junior developers
Experience with multi-system integration and complex environments
