Arηs Group, Part of Accenture, is looking for a Tech Lead Java for one of its clients at the EU Institutions in Brussels.

As a Tech Lead Java, you will play a key role in the design, coordination, and implementation of complex enterprise and cloud‑based information systems. Your responsibilities include:

Role & Responsibilities

• Leading the technical design and architecture of Java‑based applications and integration solutions
• Acting as the technical interface between project leaders, stakeholders, and development teams
• Analysing and designing integrations between multiple information systems
• Defining and coordinating the implementation of technical and application architectures
• Producing high‑quality software and architecture documentation (designs, blueprints, standards)
• Designing and implementing cloud architectures, including migration of existing systems to the cloud
• Guiding development teams on best practices for APIs, integration testing, and automation
• Participating in technical working groups, progress meetings, and meetings with users
• Supporting testing, deployment, evaluation, and reporting activities
• Contributing to large, multi‑team, enterprise‑level projects in an international environment

Qualifications

Your Profile

• University degree in IT or related field from a recognized European university (Minimum EQF Level 6)
• EU‑27 security‑clearable
• Languages: English: C1 & French: C1
• Strong leadership and coordination skills with the ability to guide and mentor technical teams
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities
• Very good communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to explain complex technical topics to non‑technical stakeholders
• Ability to work autonomously with a proactive and structured approach
• Proven capacity to work effectively in a large, international, and multicultural environment
• Ability to participate actively in multilingual meetings
• Excellent team player with a collaborative mindset
• High level of discretion and integrity when handling sensitive and confidential information

Technical Skills

• Minimum 5 years of progressive professional experience as a developer and/or solution architect, gained in government administration and/or the private sector
• Strong expertise in Java / JEE development
• Excellent knowledge of HTTP and API design
• Strong experience with REST and/or SOAP APIs
• Excellent knowledge of integration testing practices and methodologies
• Hands‑on experience with automation testing frameworks
• Strong knowledge of asynchronous communication and publish/subscribe architectures
  • Technologies such as Kafka
• Good knowledge of distributed and microservices architectures
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud‑native architectures
• Good knowledge of GRPC and Protobuf
• Knowledge of web security, including OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect
• Ability to produce clear and structured IT architecture documentation for complex integration patterns

Additional assets

• Experience with Domain‑Driven Design, Enterprise Integration Patterns, and complex event processing
• Participation in open‑source projects
• Certifications or proven expertise in:
  • Java / JEE
  • BPM and workflow patterns
  • Microservices architectures
  • API design and security
