Description: The implementation of this project at IDEA Cellular Limited was with a vision of enabling easy access to data for effective business decision-making through BI tools. The key benefits to business from this project, includes flexibility in analyzing subscriber behavior and capability to enhance revenue. The BI tables and Reports help business to analyze trends with respect to Geography and time in various Business Areas and Subareas, and further make data-driven decisions to enhance the business.

In BI-ADM we are processing large amount of transactional data (OLTP) from different source systems. After processing source data at ETL layer using IBM Data Stage v11.3, loads it into data warehouse maintaining historical and current data for all IDEA subscribers. After that as per business logic we prepare Aggregate tables using SQL and Shell scripting.

This data is presented to the Business. On top of this data reports are generated using IBM Cognos, which help client to take major business decisions.

Responsibilities:

• Creating source to target mapping documents from staging area to Data Warehouse and from Data Warehouse to various Data Marts.
• Involved in development of various aggregate tables from scratch using SQL and ETL process.
• Integrating data from several different legacy sources and loaded it to the aggregate tables.
• Using SQL DBX to develop various aggregates for meeting the business requirement.
• Creating Unix scripts for different applications that is invoked to populate data in tables.
• Working with Business Analysts to streamline any data issues which involves Unit Testing of all the worksheets.
