Application Packaging Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Application Packaging Engineer responsible for application packaging, deployment, automation, and lifecycle management within enterprise environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Windows application packaging technologies, Microsoft Intune, SCCM, scripting, and troubleshooting. This role requires close collaboration with technical teams, stakeholders, and end users to ensure successful application delivery and support.

Key Responsibilities

Perform application packaging, repackaging, and software installation automation for Windows desktop applications.

Create, modify, test, and maintain application packages using Flexera AdminStudio, Wise Package Studio, App-V 5.x, and other packaging tools.

Package and troubleshoot applications for deployment through Microsoft Intune.

Manage software deployment activities using SCCM and Intune.

Perform packaging and deployment of MSIX and AppX applications.

Support Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) activities, including application onboarding, upgrades, maintenance, and retirement.

Utilize scripting technologies such as PowerShell, PSADT, VBScript, Batch Script, and Wise Script to automate packaging and deployment tasks.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex application packaging and deployment issues.

Handle application requests and lifecycle activities through ServiceNow, Remedy, or similar ITSM tools.

Participate in automation initiatives to improve packaging efficiency and reduce delivery timelines.

Conduct proof-of-concepts (POCs) for new packaging technologies and deployment methodologies.

Perform quality reviews of packaged applications and recommend process improvements.

Maintain accurate technical documentation and records for packaging projects.

Collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices related to application packaging and deployment.

Support transition and transformation initiatives related to application management and endpoint services.

Required Qualifications

Strong experience in Application Packaging and Repackaging for Windows environments.

Hands-on experience with:

Microsoft Intune

SCCM (Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager)

Flexera AdminStudio

Wise Package Studio

App-V 5.x

MSIX/AppX Packaging

Experience with ServiceNow and/or Remedy.

Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.

Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation.

Knowledge of PSADT, VBScript, Batch Scripting, and Wise Script.

Understanding of Application Lifecycle Management processes.

Experience with packaging automation tools and technologies.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Mac Application Packaging.

Exposure to Application Portfolio Management.

Experience supporting digital workplace or endpoint management environments.

Knowledge of modern deployment and endpoint management solutions.
