Data Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to design, develop, and support enterprise data platforms and analytics solutions within a global technology environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in building scalable cloud-based data architectures, developing robust data pipelines, and enabling data-driven decision-making through modern analytics platforms.

You will collaborate with business stakeholders, product teams, architects, and developers to deliver reliable, secure, and high-quality data solutions while supporting enterprise integration, reporting, and AI-driven initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Data Engineering & Platform Development

Design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise data platforms and data pipelines using Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Fabric.

Build and support ETL/ELT processes to ingest, transform, and publish data from multiple internal and external sources.

Develop Lakehouse-based solutions using Azure Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS Gen2), and Apache Spark/PySpark.

Support real-time and batch data processing through messaging and event-streaming technologies, including Azure Event Hub, Event Grid, and Service Bus.

Design and implement enterprise data integration solutions across cloud and business systems.

Support analytics and reporting initiatives through integration with Power BI semantic models and downstream reporting platforms.

Ensure platform reliability, scalability, security, and performance optimization.

Participate in CI/CD implementation and DevOps practices to enable efficient and automated deployments.

Prepare and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge-sharing materials.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Application Development & Integration

Develop and maintain APIs and application components using .NET Core, ASP.NET, C#, Web APIs, and microservices architectures.

Design and consume RESTful APIs for system integrations and data exchange.

Work with enterprise platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power Automate, and SharePoint.

Support integration between business applications, data platforms, and reporting solutions.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.

7 years of professional experience in Data Engineering, Cloud Data Platforms, or Enterprise Analytics.

Strong experience with Microsoft Azure data services, including:

Azure Databricks

Azure Data Factory

Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS Gen2)

Azure SQL

Azure Functions

Hands-on experience designing and implementing ETL/ELT pipelines and enterprise data integration solutions.

Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, including SQL Server and PostgreSQL.

Experience with Lakehouse and Medallion architecture patterns.

Advanced experience with Apache Spark and PySpark for distributed data processing.

Strong Python development skills, including data processing frameworks such as Pandas and NumPy.

Experience designing dimensional data models, including star and snowflake schemas.

Experience designing, developing, and consuming REST APIs.

Understanding of data preparation techniques for AI and Machine Learning solutions, including feature engineering and data labeling workflows.

Familiarity with analytics and visualization platforms such as Power BI or Tableau.

Experience working in enterprise environments with strong security, governance, and compliance requirements.

Nice to Have

Experience with Microsoft Fabric.

Experience integrating with Dynamics 365 and SharePoint.

Exposure to Azure OpenAI, Azure Machine Learning, or other AI services.

Experience working within large, global organizations.

Knowledge of DevOps, Infrastructure as Code, and modern cloud deployment practices.

Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate

Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate

Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert

Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate

Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate or Professional
