Atombit is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to support the day-to-day financial operations of the business.
- Working closely with the Finance Business Partner, you will play an important role in ensuring accurate financial records, efficient transaction processing, and smooth financial This is a varied role that offers exposure to multiple areas of finance, including ledger management, reconciliations, reporting support, and month-end activities, while collaborating with colleagues across different departments.
- The role provides an excellent opportunity for a motivated finance professional to develop their technical skills, gain exposure to management reporting, and contribute to the efficiency and accuracy of Atombit’s finance function.
Key Responsibilities
Ledger Management & Financial Transactions:
- Maintain purchase, sales, and general ledgers, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and on time.
- Update accounting systems with relevant project and financial information, process supplier payments, and follow up on outstanding invoices while resolving queries with suppliers, clients, and internal stakeholders.
Reconciliations & Financial Control:
- Perform regular reconciliations including bank accounts, supplier statements, corporate credit cards, and aged debtors.
- Support credit control activities to ensure timely collection of receivables and assist in identifying and resolving discrepancies.
Month-End & Management Accounts Support:
- Assist with month-end close activities including accruals, prepayments, reconciliations, and financial data preparation.
- Support the preparation of management accounts, financial reports, and departmental budget monitoring.
Financial Data, Reporting & Analysis:
- Maintain and input financial data within spreadsheets and systems, performing routine calculations and analysis to support reporting and operational decision-making.
- Assist with reviewing financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy.
Expense, Asset & Stakeholder Support:
- Process employee expense claims and monitor spending trends.
- Maintain the fixed asset register, utilise finance systems to monitor cost centres and support project tracking, and respond to finance-related queries while providing support to the wider finance team.
Your Profile
Education: Degree in Finance or Accounting desirable (CIMA/ACCA qualification or currently studying beneficial).
Experience:
- Previous experience in a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant, or similar finance support role.
- Experience maintaining ledgers, processing transactions, and supporting reconciliations and month-end processes.
- Strong working knowledge of spreadsheets and financial systems.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Well organized with the ability to manage workload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Confident communicator able to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across the business.
- Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working in a dynamic environment.
- Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills.
