We are seeking a Project Developer to join our M Renewables team in Sofia. This role will support the Head of Development in overseeing renewable energy projects, primarily solar and BESS, from early-stage concept through to commissioning.

The Project

Developer will play a key role in executing project development plans, managing project development lifecycle from project initiation to Fully Ready to Build Stage, managing project pipelines, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Your role will encompass:

• Managing projects throughout the permitting and development lifecycle.
• Identify and evaluate new opportunities in the renewable energy sector
• Perform preliminary feasibility assessments (technical, regulatory and land-related)
• Coordinate preliminary design inputs to ensure alignment with permitting requirements,
• Prepare and coordinate submission of permitting documentation (building permits, environmental approvals, grid-related permits)
• Interface with local authorities and consultants, managing responses to comments and ensuring timely and compliant permit approvals.
• Monitor and report on the status of ongoing renewable projects to ensure timely delivery
• Participate in due diligence processes for M&A transactions, as required
• Coordinate with Engineering, Construction, and Legal departments to execute project development tasks
• Support the EPC team with planning and land-related issues for grid connection assets
• Update and maintain project documentation and prepare regular project updates and reports for internal stakeholders

What you bring to the role:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business Management, or related fields
• 3-5 years of experience in renewable energy project development
• Prior experience in a project management role is required
• Solid understanding of renewable energy development processes in Bulgaria
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively
• Excellent communication skills in Bulgarian and English
• Familiar with geospatial and design tools including QGIS and AutoDesk applications (e.g., AutoCAD)
• Willingness to travel as needed for project development and stakeholder meetings
