Logistics Manager

Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and organised Logistics Manager to oversee the efficient movement, storage, and delivery of goods across the business. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, planning, operational, and problem-solving skills, with experience managing logistics, transportation, warehouse, and delivery operations in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily logistics operations, ensuring the efficient movement, storage, and delivery of goods.
• Lead, supervise, motivate, and support logistics, warehouse, and delivery teams to maintain high operational standards.
• Plan and coordinate deliveries, collections, transportation, routes, and schedules according to business requirements.
• Monitor delivery performance to ensure goods are delivered safely, accurately, and on time.
• Coordinate with warehouse, procurement, retail, F&B, sales, suppliers, and other departments to ensure smooth movement of goods.
• Manage relationships with transport companies, delivery partners, couriers, suppliers, and logistics service providers.
• Monitor transportation costs, delivery performance, fuel usage, and other logistics expenses.
• Identify opportunities to improve routes, delivery schedules, vehicle utilisation, and overall logistics efficiency.
• Oversee warehouse and stock movement processes, ensuring accurate receiving, storage, picking, dispatch, and transfers where applicable.
• Monitor inventory movements and ensure accurate stock records, delivery documentation, and proof of delivery.
• Ensure goods are handled, stored, loaded, and transported safely and appropriately.
• Monitor and maintain company vehicles, transportation equipment, and logistics resources, where applicable.
• Ensure vehicles are properly maintained, serviced, insured, and compliant with relevant requirements.
• Manage and investigate delivery delays, damaged goods, missing items, customer complaints, and operational incidents.
• Develop and implement logistics procedures to improve efficiency, service quality, cost control, and operational performance.
• Monitor team attendance, productivity, performance, and compliance with company procedures.
• Train, coach, and develop logistics staff on delivery procedures, safety, customer service, and operational standards.
• Ensure compliance with road safety, health and safety, vehicle, transport, and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Monitor logistics KPIs and prepare delivery, transportation, cost, stock movement, and operational reports.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost-control activities related to logistics operations.
• Identify and manage potential supply chain and delivery risks, supporting business continuity where required.
• Take responsibility for logistics performance, delivery efficiency, cost control, team management, vehicle operations, and service standards.

Requirements

• Proven experience in logistics management, transportation, distribution, supply chain, warehouse operations, or a similar management role.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent knowledge of logistics planning, transportation, delivery operations, route management, and stock movement.
• Strong organisational, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Good understanding of logistics costs, budgeting, inventory control, and operational efficiency.
• Experience managing delivery partners, transport companies, suppliers, or logistics service providers.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Good knowledge of logistics management systems, inventory systems, GPS/tracking systems, or ERP software is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail, particularly in relation to delivery schedules, documentation, stock movement, and operational records.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to unexpected delays and operational issues.
• Strong staff training, coaching, and performance management skills.
• Good understanding of health and safety, road safety, vehicle compliance, and transportation regulations.
• Commercial awareness with the ability to control costs and improve operational efficiency.
• Proactive, reliable, professional, and results-driven attitude.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays when required.
