I am a Licensed Healthcare Professional by the National Health Regulatory Authority of Bahrain, qualified to practice as a Dietitian, with educational credentials, from Women’s Christian College, affiliated with the University of Madras, India, with a Master of Science in Foods & Nutrition and Bachelor of Science in Nutrition Food Service Management & Dietetics.
I have more than 7 years of experience in different environmental settings, healthcare facilities and nutrition food service management, both in, the Kingdom of Bahrain and India.
Currently, as the Dietitian at Al Kindi Hospital, Kingdom of Bahrain, I am a key member of the multi-disciplinary team. I am responsible for all operational activities of the Department of Nutrition and Diet Therapy, delivering comprehensive clinical nutrition care and dietetic services at both inpatient and outpatient levels. My focus includes providing Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) for a wide range of conditions, including diabetes, renal failure, and cardiac conditions.
Within 24 hours of hospital admission, I conduct an initial nutritional assessment, followed by regular reassessments, based on the present clinical diagnosis, diagnostic tests, patient interaction, and dietary recall. These assessments facilitate the identification of nutritional status and risks, the development of personalized nutritional diagnoses, and the implementation of tailored dietary interventions and nutritional treatment care plans. I utilize advanced nutritional analysis software and electronic health records to optimize patient care and track outcomes.
I am also committed to patient education, empowering individuals to make informed dietary choices for long-term health and wellbeing.
In my latest working experience at BAS Development Company – Catering, Hidd, I was in charge of all nutrition and diet related operational activities for the project which catered to the dietary needs of patients undergoing treatment with hospitals under the Ministry of Health, Bahrain, including, Salmaniya Medical Complex & Psychiatric hospital.
I have also practiced as a dietitian, at Bahrain Specialist Hospital, Bahrain, and Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, India, where I closely worked with the multi-disciplinary care team, including doctors, dietitian, educators and care givers, planning medical nutrition therapy and implementing diets based on scientific evidence to provide adequate nutritional requirements for the patients’ recovery.
This has facilitated me with great exposure to different therapeutic conditions, providing me knowledge and technical skills needed to advance in the field of food and nutrition.
