Join our Team
About this role
We are looking for a Java Software Developer to join our team in Indaiatuba. You will work in a global, agile environment to design, build and operate cloud‑native, AI‑enabled backend services that power Ericsson BOS products. This is a hands‑on, Java‑focused development role: you will design and implement features, APIs and microservices on top of Kubernetes‑based platforms, collaborating closely with other developers, architects and SREs across sites.
What you will do
- Design, develop and maintain Java‑based backend services for BOS products, from requirements and architecture to deployment and operations.
- Implement RESTful APIs, microservices and integrations using Java.
- Write clean, testable, well‑documented code, including unit and integration tests, following engineering best practices and code review standards.
- Work with Kubernetes‑based platforms on AWS and Azure, ensuring your services are scalable, reliable, secure and cost‑efficient.
- Contribute to and consume CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows to enable frequent, safe deployments.
- Use and improve observability for your services with tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Jaeger/Zipkin and ELK/EFK, helping define and monitor SLOs and reduce MTTR.
- Apply secure‑by‑design principles in your code and configurations, working with platform teams on IAM, TLS, secrets management (Vault/KMS) and service meshes (Istio/Linkerd).
- Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews and architecture decisions, helping shape technical roadmaps and standards for Java services.
- Collaborate closely with platform engineers and SREs to onboard services to the platform and continuously improve developer experience and onboarding for product teams.
The skills & knowledge you will bring
- Proven experience as a Java Software Engineer / Backend Developer working on cloud‑native systems.
- Solid communication skills in English, comfortable working in a distributed, global engineering community.
- Strong coding skills in Java (Java 8+; ideally Java 11 or later), with solid understanding of object‑oriented design, concurrency and design patterns.
- Experience with Java frameworks such as Spring / Spring Boot (or similar) for building microservices and REST APIs.
- Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes (architecture, basic objects, deployments; experience with operators/CRDs and Helm/Helmfile is a plus).
- Practical experience with AWS and/or Azure and core cloud services (e.g. containers, networking, storage, managed databases).
- Background in CI/CD (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab CI, Spinnaker) and exposure to GitOps practices.
- Good understanding of cloud security fundamentals: IAM, TLS certificate handling, secrets management (Vault, KMS) and/or service meshes (Istio/Linkerd).
- Experience working in Agile teams, with strong collaboration skills and the ability to take ownership of features, support production services and mentor more junior engineers.
