Software Engineer - Java

STRABL is a fintech platform that provides e-commerce businesses with a one-click, customizable express checkout solution. We help merchants simplify their checkout experience and integrate with multiple payment gateways, card networks, digital wallets, and buy-now-pay-later providers through a unified platform.

Our platform powers critical payment workflows, including checkout, payment processing, tokenization, recurring payments, refunds, webhooks, settlements, and merchant integrations.

We are building a scalable, secure, and reliable payment infrastructure using Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and AWS.

We are looking for a Senior Java Backend Engineer with strong fintech experience and a proven track record of building financial products from the ground up . You will help design, develop, and scale our payment infrastructure, integrations, and distributed backend services.

The ideal candidate combines strong engineering skills with a deep understanding of payment systems, financial protocols, and the complexities of building secure, reliable fintech products.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build scalable REST APIs and microservices using Spring Cloud and OpenFeign.
• Develop payment gateway integrations, tokenization, recurring payments, 3-D Secure, and webhook processing.
• Work with databases and messaging systems, including MySQL/MariaDB, MongoDB, Redis, AWS, Event Driven and multi tenant system.
• Build and deploy cloud-native applications using Docker and AWS.
• Implement monitoring, logging, distributed tracing, and automated testing.
• Ensure high standards of security, performance, reliability, and code quality.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional Java development experience , with strong hands-on expertise in Java and Spring Boot.
• Proven fintech experience , with previous involvement in building and delivering financial products, payment platforms, or payment infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of payment processing, payment gateway integrations, transaction lifecycles, and financial systems.
• Experience with financial industry standards and protocols such as EMV 3-D Secure, EMVCo specifications, card tokenization, or related payment technologies.
• Strong knowledge of microservices, REST APIs, OOP, SOLID principles, and software design patterns.
• Experience with MySQL/MariaDB, MongoDB, Redis, Docker, and AWS.
• Familiarity with automated testing, CI/CD, monitoring, and production troubleshooting.
• Excellent written and spoken English , with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly, document solutions, and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills, ownership, and the ability to solve complex technical problems independently.
