Software Engineer – Python (Advanced)

What You'll Do
- Design, implement, and optimize advanced Python code for production-level systems
- Analyze and manipulate structured datasets to support engineering and modeling workflows
- Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, transform, and validate data
- Review, debug, and improve existing codebases for performance, reliability, and maintainability
- Translate ambiguous, high-level requirements into concrete, well-reasoned technical solutions
- Evaluate tradeoffs and recommend best-fit approaches with a consulting-style mindset
- Document assumptions, decisions, and implementation details with clarity and precision
Who You Are
Must-Have
- 4+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Advanced Python proficiency — clean architecture, performance optimization, and debugging
- Strong data analysis experience working with real-world, complex datasets
- Solid SQL skills including complex queries, transformations, and data validation
- Prior consulting or client-facing experience, with the ability to reason through open-ended problems independently
Nice to Have
- Experience working with large, messy, or high-volume datasets
- Familiarity with backend systems, REST APIs, or data pipeline architecture
- Comfort evaluating AI-generated code or analytical outputs
- Strong written communication skills and exceptional attention to detail
