My name is Eric and I am a 3D artist with a big passion for worldbuilding, visual storytelling and the craft of blending those into immersive, story driven gaming experiences.
I have previously worked as a 3D artist at Glowfish Interactive, an indie Belgium company I worked with remotely and full time with for the duration of one semester, creating many props and characters for their next unannounced game.
Before that, I studied the Game Graphics Production course at Howest Digital Arts and Entertainment for 3 years, where I was taught how to approach the creation of game-ready assets in a very thorough way.
I have been a 3D artist at Glowfish Interactive, an indie Belgium company I worked with remotely and full time with for the duration of one semester, creating many props and characters for their next unannounced game. For this project, I was working with the rest of the team in a digital environment, while spending most of my time in Photoshop, Blender and Unity to design and create a variety of stylized and funny-looking creatures, using a low-poly and very procedural workflow to quickly generate a sense of character diversity in the game.
I studied the Game Graphics Production course at Howest Digital Arts and Entertainment for 3 years. There, I was taught how to approach the creation of game-ready assets in a very thorough way, from the creation of concepts to the entire pipeline of sculpting in ZBrush, modeling, retopologizing and unwrapping in Maya and texturing in Substance Painter, then going all the way to implementing those assets in the engine and using its shader functions to get the best out of the priorly made textures. Of course, besides those technical challenges, I also had to work on a variety of game projects with teams composed of game artists, programmers and sound designers, which I really considered to be the best part of the course.
