Matthieu Robert-Ortis

I saw a like from Savvy Raj on a LinkedIn post that featured a fascinating three dimensional sculpture. The share she liked only showed the novelty but did not quote the artist. Having examined the video shared I made out the name and that consequently led me to the actual artist which is who is featured here. His name is Matthieu Robert-Ortis.
Normally I would share my thoughts as an IMHO and then catalogue that response into my IMHO PowerPoint along with tagged information that I can refer back to later. This time, this particular share carried so much more additional depth, that it deserved a greater degree of personal reflection.
We have become consumers of brilliant work and we have got used to viewing novel things or sharing the extraordinary, but we are not thinkers of brilliant work or reflectors of brilliant work, because we have got used to finding things to showcase for others, because attention has become the chief currency of social media.
That next week we will shift our minds to another dozen highly novel shares, and in the process not pay any attention to the brilliance that captivated my attention today the moment I saw it. It is sad that if someone shares this artists work again and that person has seen an earlier share, it is treated with a dismissive "Yep, I've already seen that".
What motivates me is the mind of the artist and not just the sophistication and brilliance of that artist and I especially am not intending this to a momentary source of attention for others, who drift from one share to another, in a very temporal and superficial manner, consuming novelty and the extraordinary for a quickie WOW! I call that mental masturbation.
First I will share the actual WOW! and it does not matter to me one bit if this gives a mental rise to others, that is not the purpose of this buzz, nor is this the purpose in this being the first share in my newly updated hive "CREATIVE MINDS" :
Epigénétique
Once we achieve that AHA moment, what a person who is a viewer of this does is there on own business, this buzz is recording my reactions and how that informs my perspectives about creative minds. I know that I cannot get my own head around how this artist perceives the three dimensional and how he brings to life these dynamic perspectives. The share above comes from the artists page, the second share below stems from a hotel that claims they sponsored this particular artists work :
"The Revolution of Giraffes"
What is surprising is the very few number of interviews available for this artist, even though he has generated multi-million views in some social media places. One of those interviews is from Malaymail and it is interesting because it is one of the few that delves into the artists thinking. What surprised me was that Matthieu Robert-Ortis was not interested in "conceptual art", but perspectives and associated exploration :
