More thoughts on Risks

Transition to Retrement

Do you know what they all have in common?
You know, the billions and billions who came before you, who used to live in the jungles of time and space.
Their adventure is over.
You know what else?
Given another chance, they'd take more risks. Not because they'd always succeed, but because from where they are now, the glory of knowing they at least tried far exceeds any regrets of never knowing what might have been.
At the end don't regret not taking risks. I am not talking about doing anything physically dangerous but taking a risk that pushes your boundaries. Wear that outrageous Hawaiian shirt to the next lunch with your buddies. Dye your hair your favourite colour, say hello to that person you have been thinking about for awhile. Phone a long lost relative to catch up with the family. Apologize for the big blunder that put a wedge between you and your family/friend/grandkids.
Your adventure is not over, you have many more years to enjoy your journey. The jungles of time and space are still waiting for you to make your impression. Life is a journey that has many paths and it is my hope that you take “the path less travelled” as that can lead to many adventures. As I was writing this my sister-in-law phoned me to tell me that my brother and she had just returned from their first cruise that was exciting and very much fun and they were ready to embark on a new voyage as soon as they had recuperated from this one. I listened and wished them well. Life is full of adventures and it is good.
