Application Developer – Remote

A leading training centre is seeking an experienced application developer to create a comprehensive exam revision app for gas and renewable engineers in the UK. The app will support new entrants in preparing for industry exams by providing an intuitive, mobile-first experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mobile app development and a keen understanding of educational technology, with the ability to deliver a robust, user-friendly solution that mirrors the DVLA theory test format.

This is a fully remote, project-based opportunity with the potential for future collaboration.

Deliverables

• Develop a cross-platform mobile app compatible with both iOS and Android devices.
• Integrate a question bank of 300–600 multiple choice questions, including instant feedback and detailed explanations.
• Implement mock exam functionality with timed sessions and pass/fail results.
• Create topic-based modules covering Gas Safety Regulations, appliances, and emergency procedures.
• Enable user progress tracking across all modules and topics.
• Ensure a seamless, intuitive user interface and experience.
• Provide technical documentation and support for future updates.

Requirements

• Proven experience in mobile application development for both iOS and Android platforms.
• Proficiency in relevant frameworks such as React Native, Flutter, or similar cross-platform technologies.
• Strong understanding of educational app design and user experience best practices.
• Ability to integrate large question banks and implement instant feedback mechanisms.
• Experience with secure data handling and user progress tracking.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality results within project timelines.
• Familiarity with UK gas safety regulations and training standards is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and availability for remote collaboration.
